The North County Cooperative Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Kyree Smith. On 05/28/2021 at approximately 11:15pm, officers responded to II Bar (10466 West Florissant Ave, Dellwood) for a report of a disturbance in the parking lot of the bar. There officers located four individuals in the parking lot who had all been shot. Kyree Smith (age 23) died from his gunshot injury. A male victim with a critical gunshot injury and two females with non-life threatening injuries were all transported to the hospital. The other three victims are expected to survive.
It was determined Delece Lee (age 24) shot into a group of people that she believed included individuals with whom she had gotten into a verbal argument with earlier inside the bar. Delece’s actions led to an exchange of gunfire which left multiple people shot and Kyree dead. It is unknown at this time if any of the bullets from Delece’s gun actually struck any of the individuals shot. However, due to her perpetration of a felony assault, she was charged with the following:
Murder 2nd Degree
Armed Criminal Action
Delece was arrested on a $250,000 bond.
