Homicide Suspect in Custody

(Lake Saint Louis, MO; May 31, 2000) Early this morning police arrested Raymond Marciniak, a 20-year-old man from Moscow Mills, and applied for warrants on charges of second degree murder, first degree robbery, armed criminal action, and first degree tampering of a vehicle in connection with the homicide of Nancy J. Hutchings of Lake Saint Louis. Mrs. Hutchings’ husband discovered her body yesterday afternoon.

Marciniak, an acquaintance of the couple’s son, periodically visited at their Lake Saint Louis home. At the time of his arrest, the 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada that was reported stolen from the residence was in close proximity to the suspect. He is being held in Illinois on unrelated charges.

Lake Saint Louis Police and detectives from the Major Case Squad worked through the night following up on the information that led to Marciniak’s arrest less than 12 hours after the homicide was reported.
