INVESTIGATION MOVES FORWARD FOR
MAJOR CASE SQUAD IN VINITA PARK HOMICIDES
The Major Case Squad’s investigation into the Vinita Park double homicide revealed three adults were involved the incident. It appears a domestic argument turned violent with the female victim being shot and killed by the male. The male was then shot and killed by a third person on the scene, who was being threatened by the male. The person who shot the male is cooperating with law enforcement. The deceased female is identified as Tashonda Nesbitt and the deceased male is identified as Vernon Stewart, Jr.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is requested to contact the Major Case Squad at (314) 574-4041 or the North County Police Cooperative at (314) 428-7373. Once the evidence has been analyzed and investigation completed, the case will be presented to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review. The Prosecuting Attorney’s Office will determine if any charges are warranted.
