On Saturday, April 15, 2018 at approximately 12:56pm, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to County Line Quick Shop, 2913 Camp Jackson Road in reference to a subject being shot. Upon arrival, officers found a African-American male on the ground in front of the business near the roadway. He was pronounced deceased on scene. The Major Case Squad was requested by Sheriff Rick Watson.
Currently 22 investigators with the Major Case Squad are investigating the incident. The victim has been identified as Roosevelt H. Davis Jr., 21 years of age from Cahokia, Illinois.
During the preliminary investigation, a suspect vehicle, a Silver Pontiac, was seen leaving the area of the shooting. The vehicle has an Illinois temporary tag attached and may have a dent on the front passenger door.
