The Pine Lawn Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of William Utley (age 21). Police officers responded to the 6200 block of Creston Avenue for a report of a person shot inside a vehicle. There they located William Utley lying in the street next to his vehicle. He had been shot. He was taken to the hospital where he died.
As a result of this investigation, Darrelle Miller (age 20) was charged with Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action. He was arrested on a no-bond warrant.
