*Subject: Major Case Squad Press Release
On Friday, August 14, 2020, at approximately 0646 hours, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a subject down at a residence in the area of Eastland Dr., Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois. Upon deputies’ arrival, they located a deceased male lying on the ground outside of a residence. It was determined the decedent was a victim of a homicide. The male victim is 31 years of age. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time; as we are awaiting and confirming that the next of kin has been notified.
The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis has been activated to investigate this matter. At this time, multiple investigators from the Major Case Squad are working this investigation. The investigation is in the early stages and there is no further information to provide at this time.
