On 08/02/21 at around 2:00 A.M. the Granite City Police Department responded to Illinois Route 3 for a report of gun shots. Upon the arrival, Officers discovered that two individuals had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were immediately transported to a hospital in St. Louis, MO.
The Major Case Squad of Greater St Louis has been activated to investigate this matter. At this time, approximately 15 investigators from the Major Case Squad are working this investigation. Investigators are actively working numerous leads in order to identify the person(s) responsible for this heinous crime and bring them to justice. After the activation, it was discovered that one of the victims had succumbed to their injuries.
The decedent is identified as:
Ahmaad R Nunley (30 years of age)
The identity of the additional victim will not be released at this time and no suspect(s) are currently in custody. There is no further information to be released at this time.
