The North County Police Cooperative requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Tonya Martin. At approximately 12:37am, police officers responded to a residence in the 6400 block of Wellsmar Ave, Wellston for a call of shots fired into the residence. When officers arrived on scene, they located Tonya Martin (age 33) inside the residence. She had been shot. She was transported to the hospital where she died.
