The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Jamell Bridges (age 24). At approximately 10:30am, deputies responded to Judith Drive in unincorporated Cahokia for a report of a man lying in the roadway unresponsive. Deputies located Jamell Bridges who had been killed from a gunshot wound to the chest.
As a result of this investigation, DeMarcus Scott (age 24) was charged with 1st Degree Murder. His bond was set at $1,000,000.
