Suspects: Mantia Johnson Jr, Clyde Leonard, and Larry Donell Lovett
The Granite City Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Ahmaad Nunley. At approximately 2:00am, officers responded to Illinois Route 3 for a report of shots fired. There officers located two people who had been shot. Both were taken to a local hospital. Ahmaad Nunley (age 30) died from his injuries. The other individual survived.
As a result of this investigation, the following individuals were charged in this case:
Mantia Johnson Jr (age 34) - 1st Degree Murder, Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Weapon by a Felon - Bond $1,000,000
Clyde Leonard (age 37) - 1st Degree Murder, Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm - Bond $2,000,000
Larry Lovett (age 40) - 1st Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm - Bond $5,000,000
